Christmas
So, last week twas the season to be jolly, and as a result much merriment was had, much food was consumed and much wrapping paper was thrown aside.
I managed to acquire quite a few nifty little whatsits, though all I had asked for was Coles vouchers so Steph and I wouldn’t have to worry about groceries for the first couple of weeks when we move to St Kilda.
I got mainly kitchen stuff,...
I just read my post from last night. If I had a conversation with any of you during this weirdness, sorry. I’m still feeling really crazy from the medication. Jittery and speedy and horrible. Like I’m moving really fast. My pupils are dilated like you wouldn’t believe. I’m not ‘seeing sounds’ anymore though, and there’s no ‘music in the air’.
...
Wow
My flu medication is ridiculous. I can hear listening to music in the air. Every sound has a shape, and Ive been choosi circular sounds out and mixing them in my head. Thanks for the weirdness, Dimetapp Day & Night. Who knew.
apartment #2
So the place we thought we found got leased to someone else on Christmas Eve. But that’s okay. Because now we’ve found a better place. With polished floorboards and a black-tiled kitchen and a new bathroom and a garage and a balcony.
Calling the agent tomorrow.
Hopefully getting the keys to go check it out on Wednesday.
Hopefully it is as great as we think it is.
Hopefully we will...
I have a (recurring) dream
When I was around 16 years old, I began to have this recurring dream.
I am in a car, sometimes I am driving, sometimes I am in the passenger seat. We drive through a field of tall wheat, then vast grassy paddocks. In the distance there is a small white weatherboard building, a chapel, and I realise we are going to someones wedding but I never know who’s it is. As we get closer, I can see...
working on a new mix...
so far, it includes the black ghosts, the twelves, presets, new young pony club, midnight juggernauts, muse, grafton primary, last shadow puppets…
what’s missing? any requests?
I really hope we get this apartment
I’ve already decorated it in my head. And designed housewarming party invitations.
I know I shouldn’t count my chickens, but this has been a long time coming.
apartment
Steph and I may have found a place… but I don’t want to jinx it by saying too much.
All I will say for now is that it’s much nicer than we thought we could afford, really close to public transport, 15 minutes from the city and 10 minutes from the beach.
Forms are being filled out, and we should know if it is ours by the end of next week.
Excitement!
my two cents
Last night, my favourite band, Muse, posted a link on Facebook to an interview they had with a guy from the Twilight movies. The title of the video was Will Muse be on the Eclipse Soundtrack? and even though the interview never actually ended up addressing this question, everyone who commented decided that this meant they would be.
Now anyone who knows me will know that there are a few things...
I can't sleep
So I’m laying in bed listening to all my life by Evan Dando. I had been staring out the window at an aeroplane, but now it has disappeared beyond the horizon and left the sky wide and empty and dark. Keep thinking how incredibly comfortable my bed would be if it were made entirely out of feather pillows. Or astronaut foam. Next song! Electric President - snow on dead neighborhoods. Gotta...

numerology
Apparently all the letters of my name add up to eleven. I don’t know how I didn’t know this before, considering it is my favourite number. It turns out that in numerology, when you reach the numbers 33, 22 or 11 you aren’t meant to reduce them any further, as these are ‘master numbers’ or something. I’m not entirely sure what that means.
Uh… yeah. Back to...
This whole internet censorship thing is bullshit
When did the Australian government start moving backwards? Seriously? It’s like they looked around at all the other countries and thought, “you know what, they way they’re handling freedom of information over in North Korea looks pretty good, maybe we should give that a go?”
They say the whole point of putting this filter on our internet is to stop people from accessing...
Doom Valley
Tomorrow morning, I will venture into the Dandenong Ranges with Steph, Ben and Cory for a picnic in Doom Valley. We haven’t been since March, although we had been planning to go during Autumn and Winter when it has significantly greater levels of doominess. Theres a particular spot that we usually have our picnic, in amongst the pine trees where the ground is soft. While we are there, we...
a trip down memory lane
sorry about posting so many videos tonight. i’m in a timewarp. listening to some music i haven’t listened to for a while, feeling nostalgic, wanted to share some of it. just be glad i’m not posting horrendous highschool photos.

quality musings - take 1
Last night I went over to Case’s Place, otherwise known as the Place of Case, and for some reason we decided to record a little bit of drivetime-radio type stuff, entitled ‘Quality Musings’.
But when I hit record, she decided it would be more fun to stay completely silent. So I pretty much talked to myself for two and a half minutes. The result is my greatest explosion of word...
Yawn
I see my lack of brain function at this time of morning as proof that I am not meant to be working a 9-5 job. Even my body clock wants me to be a writer.
I've just had a really cool idea for a website
But my knowledge of HTML doesn’t extend much further than knowing the code to apply italics and colour to text. Damn.
Also, it’s probably impossible to make.
Oh well. Maybe I’ll try it anyway.
my education
I just received a letter from CAE about next years classes. I knew it was going to be bad, but this is worse than I expected.
After the tertiary education reforms that the Victorian Government put into place in July, CAE has had to cut out half of the creative classes in order to save money, and on top of that all of my fees are going to double. Even though continuing students are allowed to stay...
a highlights reel?
i can’t sleep, so i have been reading over my old blog entries, rediscovering some odd little pieces of writing and/or word vomit. here are five of my favorite things that i have posted since i started tumbling in april;
1. Insomnia
i’m pretty sure that having insomnia is similar to having a coke addict for a best friend. when you want to just go to bed, they want to stay up. all...
I want to live in a hobbit house.

my dayjob
i have to sleep. i have to wake up in the morning. i find myself hoping to come down with a sudden flu, or maybe something rare and contagious, just something that will give me a reason to call in sick. it’s the last place i want to be tomorrow. work. worse still—work meeting. sitting in a room doing nothing for five hours while my work still needs to be done.
i want to be back in a...

bride of chucky
well here we are. a tuesday evening, and i’m sitting here in someone elses house being freaked out by the roomful of creepy dolls that i discovered this afternoon when i finally decided to see what was downstairs.
i’ve been house-sitting for a little over a week, and i haven’t slept much. the house is far too big for one girl to live in. the roof is flat tin, and theres a whole...
